Many eclipse chasers traveled to Mexico, the United States, and Canada to see the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. Morris Maduro along with his wife, Gina Maduro and his family were able to witness one of the few opportunities where there is an alignment with the Sun 93 million miles away and the Moon a quarter million miles away, and for a few minutes the Sun, essential for life on Earth, is blocked from view by the Moon. Morris Maduro (Dept. Chair and Professor of Biology at University of California, Riverside) first exposure to a solar eclipse was in February 1979; years later he saw a total solar eclipse in 1988, throughout his lifetime he has become more and more interested in eclipses and it's fascinating traits.
